How to Change Facebook Page Name?

To Change Facebook Page Name in 2022

Changing the name of your Facebook page is sometimes necessary. People nowadays create Facebook pages based on the latest trends, and then after a while, when it becomes outdated, they change the name of that Page. Furthermore, many businesses use Facebook Pages to advertise and build a brand image. However, not every business is a success. In such cases, they rename their pages to whatever new name they choose. Furthermore, many advertisers these days create pages to gain likes and then sell the Page to people who want more likes for their pages after a few months. This blog will explain how to change the name of a Facebook page.

In all of these scenarios, changing the name of the Facebook Page becomes obvious, and as simple as it may appear, it is not. You must follow different steps for Web and mobile, and Facebook does not allow every name for a page. It has specific guidelines that must be followed. It should also be noted that when I refer to the Page name, I mean the Title of the Facebook Business Page, which is displayed beneath your profile photo.

How to Change Facebook Page Name?

Changing the name of your Facebook page is a big deal, and it must be done correctly because the social media app does not allow users to change the phrase repeatedly.

To request a name change for your Page, you must be an admin. Because Facebook usually rejects your updated page name for various reasons, review the business page name guidelines listed below to avoid this.

Facebook page names are permitted:

The page name reflects the image of the company or your business.

Page names can’t include:

  • Terms or phrases that may be abusive or infringe on another’s rights.
  • If the Page is not the official Page of a brand, location, organization, or public figure, the word “official” is used.
  • Incorrect capitalization (example: tHe best CaFE).
  • Symbols (for example, ®) or extraneous punctuation.
  • Descriptions or slogans (for instance, The Best Cafe – We serve the best coffee in town).
  • Any form of the word “Facebook.”
  • Generic words (example: Pizza).
  • Geographical locations in general (example: Pakistan).
  • Page names are limited to 75 characters.

How to change your Facebook Page name on mobile

Previously, we could also change the Facebook name on our phones. However, there is some bad news. The mobile app does not allow you to change the name of your Page. When you attempt to do so, you will receive the error “content not found.”

Even if you do everything correctly, you can’t always change your name. This is why:

You do not have the Page role required to change the name of your Page.
You or another admin recently changed the name of your Page. Page name changes are permitted once every seven days, and requests will be accepted in 3 to 7 days.
There may be restrictions on your ability to change the name of a regional Page if it is part of a global Page.

As I previously stated, changing page names is not easy, and certain guidelines must be followed for it to be successful. Please let us know in the comments if you find a way to change the page name via the mobile app.
