Thousands of teachers at School Education Department (SED) Punjab educational institutions have applied for a transfer and posting under the Education Department’s e-transfer policy.
Over 28,500 teachers have requested a transfer and posting to different cities, according to details. There are 16,000 female teachers among the 28,000 total, with the remainder being male.
Last month, the former Punjab government announced the reopening of the e-transfer portal for the transfer and posting of SED Punjab teachers.
The portal reopened on March 31, and the deadline for application submission was April 13. The Education Department will review applications until April 23 and will issue transfer and posting orders on April 25.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar introduced a transparent and corruption-free transfer and posting policy for both school and college teachers in 2020.
In accordance with this policy, the provincial government also launched an e-transfer mobile application, which allows a user to track the progress of the application and receive the corresponding order.
