This New Camera Can Capture Full Color Pictures Even in Complete Darkness [Photos] in 2022

Duovox has recently released a small camera that allows users to see in the dark. The Duovox Mate Pro night vision camera claims to be capable of capturing full-color images and videos in near-complete darkness.

The new camera, which is being crowd-funded on Kickstarter, is a small device designed to replace traditional infrared night vision devices that produce black and white images. The Mate Pro is designed for nighttime adventurers, content creators, and anyone who wants to capture the night’s beauty unrestrictedly. It can capture high-quality images and videos in extremely low-light conditions.

There is no official spec sheet as of yet, but a pre-production sample was presented to PetaPixel.

When not in use, the Mate Pro night vision camera has a fixed length, non-removable lens, and can be easily tucked away. It weighs approximately 216g and has a heavy front due to the lens apparatus.

It includes a mini tripod stand to provide sturdy support for the device and aid in the capture of beautiful images. The Duovox Mate Pro’s body chassis is plastic, with six hard plastic buttons at the top, including the power, shutter, and four other buttons that act as shortcuts to different menu settings.

However, the camera lacks a lens cap, necessitating extra precautions when handling it.

The Mate Pro’s camera settings and menus are easily accessible via the 3-inch touchscreen on the back of the camera.

A port cover on the right side of the camera conceals the USB-C charging port and a microSD card slot that can hold up to a 512GB card. This allows for several hours of video and a large number of photos to be stored on the device.

A 3,000mAh non-removable battery powers the Duovox Mate Pro camera. The Mate Pro camera settings include a plethora of options and modes that make the device quite versatile, allowing the user to have a more personalized experience.

The camera’s main selling point appears to be its night vision capabilities. It employs the SONY STARVIS 2 CMOS sensor, which aids in the capture of full-color images and videos in low-light conditions.

Furthermore, the seven-lens camera setup aids in delivering high-quality images and videos of varying resolutions and combining them into a single photo. While the infrared filter aids in preserving the color fidelity of the images or videos.

The Mate Pro night vision camera starts at $1,200, but the Kickstarter platform starts retailing the device at a reduced price of $599, with first deliveries expected in October 2022. However, it remains to be seen whether the current specifications will match reality when the Mate Pro hits the market in October.
