Asus’ ZenBook laptop line includes experimental devices with a secondary display. The ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition builds on that tradition by having a secondary display on the back. The laptop was first announced at CES 2022 and is now available for purchase.

The laptop, as the name suggests, has a 14-inch OLED screen, giving it an advantage over other laptops on the market with LCD panels. This screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2880 x 1800, and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It has a response time of 0.2ms and covers the entire DCI-P3 color gamut.

It is a thin and light laptop that measures only 15.9mm thick and weighs 1.4kg. The LED illuminated touchpad compensates for the lack of a Numpad, and the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button.

But it’s the secondary 3.5-inch OLED screen on the back that truly distinguishes it from other laptops. Asus refers to it as the ZenVision smart display, and it can display various animations, battery status, notifications, time and date, or any user-customizable text.

It has the most up-to-date hardware, including Intel’s 12th Generation Core i9-12900H CPU with integrated Iris Xe GPU. This is accompanied by up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.

The laptop has four USB C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, one HDMI 2.0 port, a headphone jack, and one SD card, reader. There is no information on battery capacity or life.

The Asus ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition is already on the market in the United States for $1999.
