Hamza Shafqaat Replaced as DC Islamabad in 2022

Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad, has been fired. He’d been in Islamabad since July of last year.

Irfan Nawaz, a Pakistan Administrative Service BS-19 officer, has been named DC Islamabad immediately. Until his transfer to Islamabad, he served as DC in Quetta.

According to an official notification issued by the Establishment Division, Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, a BS-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been transferred from the post of DC Islamabad with immediate effect. He has been directed to report to the Establishment Division as soon as possible.

Hamza Shafqat will be remembered as one of Islamabad’s most proactive DCs. Islamabad saw several initiatives during his tenure, ranging from the launch of smartphone applications such as Durust Daam and City Islamabad to the operation of non-formal evening schools for underprivileged children.
