According to reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has decided to remove Ramiz Raja from the PCB’s chairmanship.
According to sources, PM Shehbaz will nominate two candidates for the position, and the Board of Governors (BoG) will choose one of them to be the new PCB chairman. Former PCB chairman Najam Sethi and former BoG member Shakil Shaikh are expected to be nominated by the PM.
Meanwhile, Ramiz met with PCB staff on Wednesday and informed them that he had received permission from the government to continue serving as PCB chairman.
“I’ve been told to keep working as PCB chairman.” “We should now concentrate on our work rather than worrying about what will happen,” Ramiz said.
Former national team captain Ehsan Mani was appointed PCB chairman in September 2021, succeeding Ehsan Mani. Ramiz has already implemented a few game-changing ideas, such as a pathway cricket program and a Junior PSL-style league, and others, such as a Women’s PSL league, are in the works.
