Athar Minallah, the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), has decided to live stream court proceedings.
Several media outlets reported on the development earlier today.
In the courtroom, the IHC’s Information Technology department has already installed a live streaming setup. The court also intends to stream today’s court proceedings as if they were a trial to test the system. After completing successful trials, the court proceedings will be live-streamed on the IHC’s official website.
The CJ has directed the IHC Journalists Association to assist him in this regard and has forbidden the court’s reporters to make recommendations to ensure the initiative’s success.
