IOC Olympic Solidarity Awards Scholarships to Pakistani Athletes for Paris Games in 2022

The International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity has awarded scholarships to 12 Pakistani athletes who could not afford training costs due to a lack of funds.

After the issue of a lack of financial resources for Pakistani athletes was brought to light, the IOC Olympic Solidarity stepped up to promote the sports by assisting aspiring Olympians.

This program is intended for elite athletes training for and attempting to qualify for the Summer Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

The Olympic scholarship will begin on January 1, 2022, and will be divided into terms of four months each until August 31, 2024. Each athlete will receive a USD650/- per month scholarship to help them prepare for the Summer Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

The scholarship will be activated as soon as the contracts for the scholarship are signed by the athletes and the National Federation, NOC Pakistan, and OS.

Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan HI(M), President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, congratulated and wished all athletes and respective federations a successful training and preparation venture to qualify for the Summer Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. He also praised the POA Secretariat for completing the task on time.
