The City School Central Region Earth Day celebrations began with a massive tree-planting drive across major cities in Punjab, followed by a thorough clean-up of the city by the students.
The City School organized tree planting and clean-up drives in Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Okara, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala, Multan, and Sialkot in collaboration with the PHA and waste management authorities.
Additionally, The City School students advocated for a cleaner society by placing yellow and blue dustbins with the words ‘Together We Grow’ in public parks in their respective cities.
These activities truly embraced the spirit of Earth Day, which revolves around enlightening the youth on the importance of saving the planet, in addition to developing organizational and leadership skills in the students.
TCS students pledged to work to save the planet and protect it from global warming and climate change on Earth Day. The City School Network’s CEO, Aurangzeb Firoz, expressed great pride in the school’s ‘Together We Grow’ initiative.
He emphasized that involving ‘Cityzens’ in plantation drives and local city clean-ups would allow the school to fulfill its mission of developing tomorrow’s leaders.
The City School believes that to create a more sustainable future, and people must protect the environment by increasing tree plantations. TCS students set a goal of planting 500 trees across Punjab to commemorate Earth Day this year.
Several notable people, including the local CEO of Education, the DG PHA, and other government officials, took part in plantation activities across Punjab.
