Pakistan Records its Highest Ever IT Exports in 9 Months of FY 2022

From July 2021 to March 2022, IT export remittances, which include telecommunications, computers, and information services, increased by 29.26% to $1.948 billion, up from $1.507 billion during the same period in FY 2020-21.
According to data from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, ICT export remittances totaled $259 million in March 2022, representing a 23.92 percent increase over the $209 million reported in March 2021. They were also $58 million higher than the previous month’s export remittances of $201 million in February 2022.
Net exports from July 2021 to March 2022 during FY2021-22 were $1.472 billion, accounting for 75.56 percent of total ICT exports of $1.948 billion. Last year, for the same period, net exports were $1.126 billion, accounting for 74.72 percent of total exports of $1.507 billion.
Syed Aminul Haq, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, has directed the PSEB to take every possible step to meet the target of IT export remittances. He stated that under the prime minister’s vision of “Digital Pakistan,” it is critical to advance all information technology issues and connect the youth, particularly students, to the digital world.
