Elon Musk: Tesla Robotaxi is Arriving Soon in 2022

Tesla will undoubtedly dominate the next generation technology industry. Tesla is making a name for itself with its innovative and energy-saving electric vehicles. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is known for setting lofty schedule expectations for his company. And then failing to act on it. However, with the company’s much-touted Robotaxi, things could be different. During an earnings call on Wednesday, he promised that it would be available in 2024. Please excuse us if we aren’t overly optimistic.

CEO Promises Robotaxi to Come Soon

Musk previously stated that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system will allow Tesla owners to turn off their vehicles. And make money when they are not in use. This appears to be a fantastic upgrade, but the Full Self-Driving upgrade has been available since 2016. Also, it is currently in limited beta testing, with customers reporting a variety of issues.

Musk’s Robotaxi plans now include a personalised car that will be available in two years. And there will be no controls. Given that we can’t get our long-term Tesla Model Y to work with FSD, we find it ambitious. In ideal conditions, it has no phantom braking on regular, uncrowded highways.

It’s Coming Very Soon

During the earnings call, Musk stated that the new Robotaxi would be released in 2023 and would have the “lowest — completely calculated — cost-per-mile, cost-per-kilometer, bookkeeping everything.” He previously stated that Tesla’s Robotaxi service will be less expensive than taking the bus, which appears unlikely unless heavily subsidised by the government or Tesla.

Do you believe Tesla’s new vehicle will be available in the next two years, given Musk’s penchant for releasing overly optimistic timeframes for new products and features?
