OGRA Warns Diesel Hoarders of Stern Action

OGRA Warns Diesel Hoarders of Stern Action in 2022.

In response to reports of diesel shortages, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has deployed enforcement teams in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and district management in various regions to inspect and uncover illegal oil storage.

The regulator warned that anyone found illegally hoarding or stockpiling oil would face legal consequences.

Chief Secretaries have already been instructed to advise Deputy Commissioners to increase vigilance against such illegal activities and to take punitive action immediately.

Furthermore, DCOs have been instructed to mobilize teams to inspect gasoline pumps in their respective regions. Anyone found hoarding or in short supply will be prosecuted under the law, and a report will be sent to OGRA.
