Gyarvi Sharif Date 2022
The famous Saint Hazrat Abdul Qadir Gilani is associated with the 11th day of Rabi Al Akhir or Gyarvi Sharif date (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him). Al Hasani Wal Husayni is his other name. However, it shows his descent from Hazrat Imam Hussain (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) and Hazrat Imam Hussain (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him). Historians believe he was born in the Iraqi town of Gilan. It is for this reason that his surname is Gilani.
Gilan provided him with his early education. He later traveled to Baghdad to study Hanbali law with Hazrat Ibn Aqil and Hazrat Abu Saeed Mubarak Makhzoomi. Hazrat Abu Muhammad Ja’far al-Sarraj taught him hadith. His Spiritual teacher, however, was Hazrat Abu’l-Khair Hammad ibn Muslim al-Dabbas (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him). He preached Islamic beliefs and principles, and many Christians and Jews accepted his teachings. He taught his students Hadith, Tafsir, and the virtues of the Quran Majeed.
Hazrat Abdul Qadir Gilani (Allah’s Blessings Be Upon Him) has followers worldwide, particularly in Iraq, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. On the 11th of Rabi Al Thani, his Urs is observed.
