Isra Wal Miraj Story (Waqia)

Shab e Meraj, also known as Lailat al Miraj and Isra Wal Miraj, is a historical night event that is widely celebrated and respected in Islamic history. It is thought to be an important physical as well as spiritual journey in Islamic history. The lailatul Miraj / Shab e Meraj was essentially a remarkable ascension of Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) to seven heavens on the back of an animal Buraq.
The great ascension of Shab e Miraj is divided into two parts, Isra and Mi’raj.

The event of Mi’raj is mentioned in Surah Al Isra in the Qur’an, but the details of the event are clearer in Ahadith. The last Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم), rode on the back of a winged mule-like beast known as Buraq.

After Surah Al Isra mentioned the event of Mi’raj, the reports, teachings, deeds, and quotations of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) later explained the event happenings in detail. Hazrat Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) traveled to the most remote mosque, Al-Aqsa Mosque, where he led all other prophets of Islam in prayer. Jibreel, God’s angel, came down to Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) while he was sleeping and washed his heart with pure waters before he began his journey. The journey to the heavens on the back of Buraq is known as Mi’raj, which literally means “ascension.” According to records, the Shabe e Miraj event occurred in the year 612.
